Whale Skeleton Exhibition

An exhibition at Alghero Airport.
Asinara National Park was chosen as partner and provided its project “A whale’s journey to Asinara”, about the recovery of the skeleton of the whale that was stranded on the Sorso coast in 2017.

The skeleton of this majestic cetacean, skilfully reassembled, is now on display in a building on the island of Asinara, in an exhibition specially set up by the Park Authority. The exhibition is an interesting attraction for researchers, sea lovers, tourists and school groups.

In the exhibition hall at Alghero Airport, the information panels produced by the Park Authority have been put on show again. Devoted to the biology and habitat of cetaceans and to the threats to their conservation, they offer an important opportunity to engage the public and raise environmental awareness.

The exhibition aims to introduce visitors to the island of Asinara, an important place for the conservation of marine wildlife, and at the same time to show the damage that human activity, often unwittingly, can cause.
