Beaches

The CRAMA Association aims to monitor the beaches along the Platamona coast and in the Municipality of Porto Torres, as well as the strictly protected beaches of Cala D’Arena and Cala Sant’Andrea in the Asinara National Park.

Monitoring runs from June to August, with the aim of detecting the nesting tracks of the Caretta caretta, so that the nest can be given suitable, constant protection throughout the incubation of the eggs until they hatch.

We also work to involve staff at beach tourism facilities and raise their awareness, by distributing information material and posters.

The aim is to provide all the information needed to recognise nesting tracks on the beach, how to behave if you witness eggs hatching, and which authorities to contact in the event of such sightings.
