Adopt a turtle

Every year around 130,000 sea turtles  are caught accidentally in the Mediterranean Sea.  Turtles that take the hooks used in fishing, or are found trapped in nets, are taken to  suitable facilities for treatment.

You can help protect sea turtles by adopting one of our patients from afar.

How to adopt

Choose the type of adoption you would like: the "Caretta" (loggerhead), "Tartaruga Verde" (green turtle) or "Tartaruga Liuto" (leatherback turtle) adoption.

Make a bank transfer of €30 if you chose "Caretta", €50 if you chose "Tartaruga Verde" or €80 if you chose "Tartaruga Liuto", to the following bank details: 

  • Account holder: Associazione CRAMA
  • Payment reference: "Adozione..." (name of the package chosen)
  • IBAN: IT18T0306967684510783571476

Send an email to: associazionecrama@gmail.com with "Adozione" in the subject line and the following details in the message:

  • the  first name and surname to appear on the adoption certificate and  the type of adoption chosen;
  • the address the kit should be sent to;
  • the recipient’s phone number
  • if your gift includes a T-shirt (included in the "Tartaruga Verde" and "Tartaruga Liuto" packages), please let us know  the size.

Please note that the minimum donation to receive the adoption certificate at home (together with information brochures about our Association and the biology of sea turtles) is €25 (within Italy). For shipping abroad, we recommend that you email us before making your donation so that we can send you the necessary information.
